The Urology of St. Louis Cancer Institute, led by a team of highly skilled, fellowship trained urologic oncology specialists, is the largest private practice group in the area that provides state-of-the-art treatment and personalized care of urologic cancers with the comfort, convenience, and accessibility only a private practice can provide. Meet the Cancer Institute Directors
Dr. Gregory Auffenberg
Dr. Auffenberg completed undergraduate studies at Boston College and then medical school at Northwestern University. Following residency training in urology at Northwestern, he pursued three years of advanced training in the management of prostate, bladder, kidney, testis, and other genitourinary cancers that took him to the University of Michigan and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was on the faculty at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine for three years after completing training where his clinical practice and research focused on urologic cancer. He is passionate about partnering with patients to help them work to solve whatever issue they are facing. His primary practice focus is on the management of urologic cancers with advanced endoscopic, minimally-invasive, robotic, and open surgical strategies.
Dr. Seth Strope
Dr. Strope completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and then medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. Following residency training in Urologic Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, he pursued a fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Endourology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
His primary clinical focus is the management of urologic oncology through laparoscopic and robotic surgery along with kidney and ureteral stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Dr. Strope was awarded a Castle Connolly Top Doctors Award in 2021.
